Welcome to the Samsung forum on CNET! Samsung worked with CNET to create a forum where people can ask questions and talk about all Samsung products and get help with everything from HDTVs, Smart TVs, home theater components, phones, cmaeras to monitors and printers. This forum is staffed by Samsung employees, but as we have seen in the past, often the most helpful answers come from CNET forum members themselves so please don't consider this just a Q and A with Samsung. This is a CNET forum and Samsung is here to be part of the conversation.

Well, can you guess if I'm furious right now? I purchased Samsung Blue Ray player and Samsung TV for boxing day 2010 here in Toronto, Canada. Few days ago when I turned it on I got pop-up message that new firmware is ready. So, naively I selected YES and few minutes later percentage meter was stuck at 80% where it spent whole night waiting for something to happen. In a morning I turned my TV on and guess what, it's still on 80%.

At that point I had to pull the plug and BAM! My $500 Home Theater is brick. Actually, I can say I'm lucky because AUX still works so at least I can listen whatever is on my TV but there are no menus, can't play DVDs, basically no video is coming out of player and all I can do is change volume. Spoke with Samsung support who wanted me follow some general reset procedure that didn't work, or even doesn't apply to this device. He said 'Press and hold stop button for 5 seconds'.

Well, I would love to do that but this device does NOT have single physical button. Regardless, I was holding my finger at a imaginary place where stop button would lit up if device was working. After 15 minutes spent on useless procedures he referred me to service center. Since player is out of warranty service center told me I have to pay $50+tax for an estimate. At that point I didn't even want to know how much would repair cost. My question is: Was anyone able to resolve this issue with Samsung?

I REALLY don't think this is my fault, and the way I see it Samsung should fix this free of charge. My only fault was not to do research before I selected YES because then I would find hundreds of people online complaining about exactly the same issue.

Hi, I have the Smoke GX350, and I'm trying to find out if there is a firmware upgrade for this device. I'm currently running v1.1.1 but the only. We sell electronic versions of service and user manuals, part lists, schematic diagrams for home and professional audio- visual equipment, PCs and other electrical.

This is pure cash grab Samsung!!! I liked you and I spent lots of money on Samsung products (Blue Ray player, TV, mine and wife's phone, computer monitor) but this what you have done is really low. Hi Samsung HD Tech, I hope you can help. And I may have posted this in the wrong place, but it is the same model family and it may be a firmware issue. Ours is an HT-F5500K home entertainment system. We've had this unit about two years, did the firmware upgrade to version 1023.0 in February, and.

In March, the unit started misbehaving. It would go off in strange ways trying to read BD or DVD menus, infinite loop on trying to load, etc. And, the audio output disappeared. French Arabic Talking Dictionary Download Free. Then, it would come back -- for a day -- for the test tones only, but nothing on the speakers. Audio would go out the HDMI to the TV's speakers just fine, if and when the DVD or BD would play. I talked with Samsung service (we bought the unit in Panama, we now live in Uruguay).

We tried menu resets and hard resets. I opened the unit, checked and reseated all connectors; measured all labeled power supply connector voltages, all seemed fine. No obviously smoked components. Still no audio out the speakers. Two days ago, we tried it again -- test tones would intermittently switch on and off (1/sec), but smoothly on and off -- no hard POPs or crackles.

Put in a disk, Audio on BD menu and start chapter seemed fine. Touched the volume UP on the remote, sound went away. No test tones, AND, every time we turn it off OR let it sit on STOP for more than about five minutes it resets Audio Out to Home Theater rather than TV speakers. I'm perfectly willing to reload the OLD firmware and try that. The device refuses to reload the current version of the firmware (looks on the USB and says it cannot find an update). Any ideas, suggestions, help, most welcome. Thanks, Mike.
