If I recall it did say what the old and new versions were when it upgraded, and I think it was version 10 point something it upgraded it to. I have a Ford Mondeo that has a Blaupunkt Travelpilot NX system that is used across the Ford range. I have recently had the operating software updated and due to this the 2007 navigation data and software disc was not compatible. In accordance with a Ford Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) the latest TomTom 2014 navigation disc was ordered. However when the disc is inserted the software appears to download and then it causes the system to constantly keep restarting every 5-10 seconds making the whole entertainment, navigation, voice control and heating/fan controls unusable. If the 2014 TomTom disc is removed the system works apart from the navigation and voice control system as they require data from the navigation disc. Having spoken to a number of people within the Ford community it appears a large number of people are experiencing the same problem. When the disc is inserted it sounds like the drive is trying to read the disc but cannot, then the drive runs down and spins up again and then the system goes into the restart cycle as if it can't read the disc properly so reboots.
